A Letter From Our President

On behalf of the Boulder Police Officers' Association, FOP Lodge 78, thank you for your continued support of our members and our mission. Our members take an oath to serve and protect this community, and they remain “willing to serve” and “ready to protect” every day. Serving as a Boulder police officer has been the honor of my career, but my greatest privilege is representing the outstanding men and women who wear the badge each day. They are professionals who serve with courage, integrity, and compassion, often at great personal sacrifice.

Boulder has faced its share of extraordinary challenges, including acts of mass violence, terrorism, and other serious crimes. Every time this community needs them, our officers have answered the call without hesitation, placing themselves in harm's way to protect others. They deserve our respect, our support, and the resources necessary to continue serving this community.

Policing today is more challenging than ever, and Boulder is facing significant recruitment and retention challenges. Attracting and keeping exceptional officers requires competitive compensation, strong benefits, and a commitment to investing in the people who protect our community. Lodge 78 looks forward to working alongside city leaders, community partners, and residents to ensure Boulder remains a safe place to live, work, and raise a family. Thank you for standing with us and supporting the officers who proudly serve this great city every day.
